By entering Re-count Photography Agora, you accept the rules and conditions outlined below.

Who can participate?RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA is open to all photographers aged at least 18 years old (or of the age of majority in jurisdictions in their respective country) from any country in the world. If you are under the age of majority, you have Your parent's or legal guardian's consent to participate in the Contest. If the RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA does not receive a valid signed parental or legal guardian consent form for any winner under the age of majority within 7 (seven) clear days of the Entrant being declared a winner (excluding the day on which RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORAAWARD makes such declaration) RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA will be entitled to select an alternative winner from among the Entrants. Entries must be submitted by April 30, 2023 - 12.00 GMT. To enter, you must upload your image via RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA Website (www.recountphotoaward.org). We do not accept hard prints. By entering the Contest, you agree and acknowledge that RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA is permitted to receive your registration data. Your personal information is collected to administer your Entry and keep you abreast of news about RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA. This information is not shared. RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD may publish any material (it does not include personal information) you submit, post, upload, e-mail or otherwise transmit to it or the Website at its sole discretion, and it shall be entitled to make additions or deletions to any such material before publication. Any image submitted to the Contest may be used by RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA and its partners for marketing and promotional purposes of the Contest and academic research. You hereby grant RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA non-exclusive, irrevocable license in each Entry throughout the world in all media for any use in connection with the contest and academic research. Winners will be announced online. All awarded Entries will be published online on DomainName.com Images awarded in other contests will be accepted. Published and unpublished images will be accepted.

Files- All images must be in .jpg, .jpeg, or .png format. - 72 dpi - 1100 pixels on the longest side. - Images should be no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB. - All images must be saved in the sRGB colour model. - No signature, no logos, no copyright, nor watermark text should appear on the images. - Postproduction is allowed. All Entrants must supply a high-resolution image suitable for printing in media and an exhibition should the image be required. Entrants will be contacted by e-mail if the submitted image(s), has passed the pre-selection stage and instructions on how to provide high-resolution files to confirm the submission.

How many Entries can I submit?The submission of a single image is not supported. We highly encourage the submission of a larger number of works or portfolios. There is no maximum number of entries to the Agora per person.

PrizesAll work All works will be featured in the online gallery on our website. All series/visual story submissions will receive feedback and recommendations from the academic and artistic committee. Short-list work Our curatorial board comprising of academics and artists will short-list work considered most effective and relevant to the project in visual story/series categories. All short-listed photographers will receive: Downloadable certificates - will also be invited to the online ceremony, including winner announcements, presentations. Publication - submissions will be highlighted online via our official website (personal profile will be created) and social media platforms such as Instagram. Exhibitions - all short-list works will be featured at exhibitions in major artistic venues in Barcelona and Edinburgh. An edited book - some of the submissions will also be included in an edited book volume that will be published based on contributions from the members of the Re-Count Curatorial Board.

Requirements1.1 RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any entry that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the Entry is submitted on the Website. You warrant and represent, in respect of each Entry submitted by You ("Entry"), as follows: 1.1.2 You are the sole owner and author of each Entry 1.1.3 You have the right to make Your Entry available to the Contest 1.1.4 Each Entry does not contain personally identifiable information about You or any other person(s) 1.1.5 Each Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libellous-, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content 1.1.6 Each Entry does not contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law 1.1.7 Each Entry does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person's rights of privacy or publicity, including: 1.1.7.1 trademarks owned by third parties 1.1.7.2 copyrighted materials owned by third parties (including movie dialogue or musical compositions) 1.1.7.3 names, likenesses, voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead 1.1.8 Entries that contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service other than that of RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA. 1.1.9 Entries containing screen credits 1.1.10 You must not submit to the Award any material that is or has ever been the subject of any threatened or actual legal proceedings or other similar complaints. 1.2 You agree to fully indemnify RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of Your breaching any of the foregoing. 1.3 You confirm that each person depicted in the Entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown. Any costumes, props or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the permission of the owner, and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.

Our Curatorial BoardOur Curatorial Board is made up of personalities coming from the academic, artistic and photographic worlds. If a judge has to withdraw their involvement for any unforeseen reason, RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA reserves the right to find an alternative judge. All entrants will be notified. Images submitted will be treated completely anonymously throughout the whole process to ensure total fairness. The judge will have the sole discretion of their selection, and attempting to contact any judge directly to influence them will result in disqualification of the Entrant.

CopyrightCopyright of a photograph shall remain with its respective photographer at all times. Whenever your work is published on this website you will be credited. Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition. We will seek to correct any errors or oversights as soon as we are notified. For all Entries, copyright holders grant RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA, and its Event Partners unlimited, non-exclusive use of high-resolution images for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the contest, promotional and academic research activities without any remuneration being due.

Usage rightsEntrants agree to grant the RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA permission to showcase their work for promotional and academic research purposes only in any of their publications including: online winners gallery, media partners articles, and academic publications. RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA do not sell images in any form. To promote winners of the RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA is granted the right to display images on social network websites (on our official profiles) including: Facebook and Instagram. RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA and its media partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse by external third parties. Any photograph used by the RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA shall carry a credit line. Your personal information and right to be forgotten: We take your privacy seriously. Right to cancelRIGHT TO CANCEL RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA reserves the right to cancel or suspend the activity at its own discretion if not capable of continuing as planned for any reason beyond its control. If the activity is cancelled, RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA will not reserve the right to use any of the submitted photographs.

Selection ProcessA shortlist of photographers from each category will be selected and announced within 14 days of the submission close date. All shortlisted and winning photographers will be contacted by e-mail. If RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA does not hear from the Entrant by the date specified in any correspondence and is therefore unable to ratify the Entry, that Entrant will be disqualified and replaced by another photographer. The decision of the Judges is final, and no negotiation will be entered into with respect to any such decision. The Prize Entrant will have 30 days from the e-mail date to claim their cash prize (they will be notified of their prize and any further instructions in the e-mail). Failing to do so will result in the loss of the prize. Winners are accountable for costs associated with the award acceptance, such as any applicable federal, state, provincial and local taxes. RE-COUNT PHOTOGRAPHY AGORA reserves the right to change or modify the prize at any time before the end of the Contest but will make sure to inform all Entrants. If a contest Entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements or is subject to any entry restrictions, that Entrant shall not be entitled to be judged a winner and will not be entitled to a prize in any circumstances.
